Sidwell Sipho Ngwenya, best known as Psyfo Ngwenya, is a South African actor, producer, record label head, presenter, and musician. He is also known for his role as Ajax on the SABC1 soap opera Generations and as a presenter for Star Search. Ngwenya has been vocal about being adopted and has battled many death rumours, which he called pure falsehoods. He began gracing the TV screen at the age of 12.

Before quitting acting, Ngwenya featured in several series, including End Game (Season 1), Generations (Season 1), Mzansi Love (Season 2) (Kasi Style), Rockville (Seasons 1 and 2), ScreenTime with Nicky Greenwall (Season 3), Soul Buddyz (Season 1), The Close Up (Season 4), and YOTV Wildroom (Season 1).

Ngwenya was in a rap crew, The Benjamins. The group split before making any major hits. He dropped his first single, Don’t Be Scared, after signing a one-year deal with Sting Music. His debut album was released in 2005. He launched Sid Records in the same year. The company has produced music for top names in the music industry, including DJ Switch, MXO, Lebo Mathosa, and more.

Ngwenya proposed to Aamirah Mirah in August 2019 after two years of dating. They tied the knot on November 21, 2020. In early January 2021, Aamirah wrote a tribute to her late mother-in-law, June, thanking her for welcoming her into her family. “So many memories and stories to share about mama June. But most importantly, thank you for welcoming me into your family and home … to our diva in Africa,”

At age 11, Ngwenya was adopted by Mzansi Opera singer June Diva Kraus, who performed for notable personalities, including Nelson Mandela, etc. She raised him and helped him achieve his dreams. She passed away in 2021, and Ngwenya took to social media to pay tribute to her. He wrote,

As heartbreaking as it is to type this, I am also happy that you lived a full life and took your last breath doing what you love doing most, traveling to other countries. Siblings

After losing his grandmother to COVID-19, Ngwenya also lost his younger brother within two months. He shared the news on October 13, 2020, “I lost my grandmother to Covid 2 months ago. My younger brother passed away on Tuesday. Being strong is a skill I am getting tired of.”
