South Africa’s renowned music festival, Rocking the Daisies, has created a wave of excitement among music enthusiasts as it announces the inclusion of Kamo Mphela as the first local artist set to perform at the highly anticipated #JWxRTD 2023 festival. The exclusive Month of Maybelline birthday soirée, held at the LevelThree Rooftop venue in Sandton, Johannesburg, served as the backdrop for the momentous announcement. Attendees of the event were treated to a remarkable live performance by Ayra Starr, the global Maybelline brand ambassador. This performance marked Ayra’s debut live showcase in South Africa. Born in Benin and raised in Nigeria, the talented twenty-year-old singer-songwriter is set to grace the stage at this year’s Rocking the Daisies festival alongside esteemed artists such as UK Grime and Hip-Hop sensation Stormzy, as well as British pop band, The Vamps, among others.
The event not only unveiled the first local headliner for the #JWxRTD Maybelline Station, but it also provided a tantalizing glimpse of what awaits festivalgoers in October 2023. The evening showcased an extraordinary exhibition by musical mavens DBN Gogo, DJ Doowap, Kamo Mphela, and Mamthug.
