Alan Fisher dethrones Hilda Baci

Nigerian chef Hilda Baci has been dethroned as the longest-casting marathon (individual) record holder after 180 days.

On Tuesday, the Guinness World Record awards and congratulates Irish chef Alan Fisher for exceeding Hilda’s time of 93 hours and 11 minutes with 119 hours and 57 minutes at his restaurant in Japan.

“What’s even more impressive is that Alan took on both attempts back to back, meaning he was at work in the kitchen for over 160 hours with just over a day of rest in between,” the prestigious body said.

Taking to social media, Alan showed off his awards and wrote, “Restless nights, early mornings and financial stress. So many years in the making. Records are made to be broken, but for today I’m proud I can hold both.”

Two Guinness World Records
– Longest Marathon Baking by an individual (47h 21m 21s)
– Longest Cooking Marathon by an individual (119h 57m 16s)

Reacting to being dethroned, Hila Baci wrote, “Huge congratulations to Alan Fisher! 119hrs 57mins is a huge achievement, and I wish him all the best as the new world record holder! I’m so happy to have held a record so prestigious and profound I will forever be honored and grateful for all the love and support.”
