Uber-talented disc jockey, DJ Fisherman is facing some serious backlash over his unique take on the trending movement – #MuteMampintsha
West Ink Boss and Kwaito Star, Mampintsha became subject of Mzansi’s contempt and scorn following a viral video of his assault on girlfriend, Babes Wodumo, on Instagram LIVE.
He has since been arrested and appeared at the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court in Durban on the same day, where he was eventually released on a R20,000 bail. He is due reappear in May.
Plus, there has been a growing number of those who believe Mampintsha’s music should be boycotted in response, birthing the hashtag #MuteMampintsha.
However, DJ Fisherman found himself in the middle of the crossfire after taking to social media platform, Twitter, with the suggestion that any plan to boycott Mampintsha’s music would only mean silencing innocent people who depend on him.
DJ Fisherman believes the ripple effects would affect many others including Babes Wodumo herself whose several hit songs feature her former lover.
“Silencing Mampintsha means taking away food from all the people that depend on him. These are sad reality we have to deal with. We really need to call upon experts to find us solution because this is an extremely sensitive issue n the repercussions do a ripple effect.” DJ Fisherman posted alongside screenshots to back up his assertion.
Unfortunately for DJ Fisherman, Tweeps simply saw his suggestion and explanation as enabling an ‘abuser’ and reacted accordingly.
