Despite the fact that it’s been nearly two years since Rico Nasty’s last album, Nightmare Vacation, she hasn’t slacked off in any manner. The DMV rapper has released a series of singles in recent months, leading fans to anticipate her follow-up LP. Rico is one of those people who you never know what you’re going to get. She has so many different styles that it’s difficult to forecast where she’ll go next.
Rico released a brief loose single, “Skull Flower,” this week, along with an accompanying video. Rico’s latest release appears to reinforce the hyper-pop trend of songs like “Intrusive.” It’s a brief effort in which Rico experiments with not only her production choices but also her vocal style. Rico’s ongoing efforts to push the boundaries are paying off. We can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
