Nate Dogg Never Leave Me Alone
On the occasion of the late Rap icon’s birthday, we replay one of his fan favorites from his debut studio album, “G-Funk Classics, Vol. 1 & 2.”
It’s been over a decade since we lost Nate Dogg, but his followers will always remember him. With all of the excitement surrounding the Mississippi-born, California-bred Rap icon’s birthday today (August 19), we wanted to showcase a classic. Nate Dogg released his debut studio album, G-Funk Classics, Vol. 1 & 2, in 1998, which featured his smash track, “Never Leave Me Alone.”
Nate’s cousin, Snoop Dogg, appears on the tune, which was produced by Kurupt and executive produced by Suge Knight. The G-Funk Era of Hip Hop was unique, with performers such as Nate, Snoop, Warren G, DJ Quik, and Dr. Dre pushing the sub-genre to new heights in the 1990s. Nate Dogg was one of the few who led the way, and it’s a time that is constantly revisited by aficionados of the sound and musicians that study productions.
Nate Dogg, happy birthday! Listen to “Never Leave Me Alone” on SAHipHopZA.
