Renowned rapper, producer, and cultural icon Riky Rick, who tragically passed away just over a year ago, surprises us with a posthumous release. Today, a powerful new song by the late artist emerged, thanks to the efforts of the recently established Riky Rick Foundation for the Promotion of Artivism.

On February 23, 2022, Makhado succumbed to his battle with mental illness, leaving a void in the music world. The foundation, in collaboration with TBWA\ Hunt Lascaris and Sony Music Africa, seeks to shed light on the critical issue of deteriorating mental health while raising funds to support individuals and organizations working towards mental well-being.

Inspired by Riky’s own words and utilizing artificial intelligence, this unique musical project allows us to hear his voice once again. Long-time collaborators Ganja Beatz, Audio Militia, and lyricist Lebo Machudi skillfully weave together the composition, capturing the essence of Riky’s style.

Riky Rick’s mother, Louisa Zondo, expressed her hopes that the Riky Rick Foundation will inspire people to care for young individuals, mental health, and overall well-being. She stated, “Our aim is to ignite positive changes in society and to Stay Shining.”

With his impactful legacy of uplifting others and giving them opportunities to shine, Riky Rick continues to leave an indelible mark. The release of ‘Stronger’ not only keeps his legacy alive but also raises awareness about mental health issues, encouraging everyone to contribute to this important cause.

Reflecting the spirit of Riky’s iconic album ‘Family Values,’ ‘Stronger’ resonates with emotive rap verses and soulful boom bap production. The song features Riky Rick’s well-known catchphrase, “We never die, we multiply,” as he delivers motivational bars in his signature King Kotini fashion.
