The award-winning singer-rapper has been keeping busy with her Amazon Prime series and preparing for the release of her new album, Special, next month.
Lizzo previously released her addictive hit single “About Damn Time,” which has now gone global as a TikTok dance challenge, and now she’s back with “Grrrls.”
The song is unquestionably a “female power” anthem, and if it sounds familiar, it’s because it samples “Girls,” a Beastie Boys classic.
The iconic single by the Rap pioneers was first released in 1987 and has now been recreated for a new generation of music fans.
Even still, this sampling has sparked disputes on social media as people voice their thoughts, which is to be anticipated.
