Popular South African actress, Thandeka Mdeliswa has been confirmed dead.
The news of her death shocked many of her fans and South Africans as a whole as they felt she was too good to have died.
The actress who was popularly known for the role of Khanya in SABC1 Isindebele drama ‘Ikani’, died at the age of 34.
The news of her death was confirmed by her family members in a statement they released while police said they are in pursuit of the shooter.
Thandeka was killed shot on September 3, in Evander, Mpumalanga and her family revealed her case is “another incident of violence against women”.
According to report, she died at Steve Biko Academic Hospital in Pretoria where she had been transferred after being moved from hospital to hospital.

According to report, she died at Steve Biko Academic Hospital in Pretoria where she had been transferred after being moved from hospital to hospital.
“It is with great sorrow that we inform you of the passing of our dearest daughter. She was shot in Evander, Mpumalanga, on Thursday, September 3 2020.
“She was immediately rushed to Evander hospital, stabilised, then airlifted to Witbank after which she was transferred to Steve Biko Academic Hospital (Pretoria) as her condition was critical but stable. She passed on in the morning of the September 5 2020 (Saturday).”
The reason main reason why she was killed has not been known as it is still under investigation but they are sure she is also a victim of gender-based violence.
“The brutality which was inflicted on our daughter has left us deeply hurt. This is another incident of violence against women (gender-based violence) which our country has to fight against. We believe justice will be served.”
Funeral arrangements have yet to be announced.
Thandeka’s death has sent shock waves across the nation, with many taking to social media to pay tribute to the star and offer their condolences to her family.
Others called for justice and urged police to investigate the circumstances around her death with urgency.
