The Weeknd’s highly anticipated drama series The Idol has received its first official trailer.
The Idol was first revealed in June of last year, with The Weeknd serving as co-creator and star. Director Amy Seimetz announced her departure from the upcoming series in April, citing a creative shift. Although production on many episodes was nearly complete, the series was being reworked with a new cast and crew.
Today, HBO released the first teaser for the new six-episode series. It’s being dubbed “Hollywood’s sleaziest love story,” and the teaser already confirms this. Prepare for a series fueled by sex, money, and narcotics.
The series was co-created by The Weeknd, Sam Levinson, and Reza Fahim of Euphoria. His co-star is Lily-Rose Depp. Watch it down below.
