Madonsela weighs in on PPE tender probe
Former Public Protector – Thuli Madonsela said she hopes the chosen ministers for probing PPE tender corruption claims are clean themselves.
“I think for a preliminary thing it’s a good thing that ministers have been brought together, I just hope the ministers themselves have not been implicated in any way,” she said.
“Of course, if you’re implicated you are going to make sure that everything ends in a rain dance and nothing moves forward,” she said.
President Cyril Ramaphosa appointed an inter-ministerial committee to investigate the corruption claims.
Some government officials have been implicated in corrupt deals.
