DaBaby Addresses Backlash at Summer Jam Stage

On Sunday, DaBaby hit the stage for the clench hand time since his disputable comments at the Rolling Loud Miami celebration half a month prior for which he later apologized (albeit the expression of remorse post was subsequently brought down).

The rapper performed at Hot97’s Summer Jam 2021 celebration at Met Life Stadium in New Jersey which was one of the not many occasions which didn’t drop him from the setup. This denoted his initially live set since Rolling Loud where he inquired as to whether they “didn’t show up today with HIV/AIDS, any of them dangerous physically sent infections that will make you kick the bucket in a little while.”

Before he went into ‘Rockstar’, he played a pre-taped video message on the big screen where he said that he never intended to irritate anyone with his remarks and expressed gratitude toward Hot 97 as they “permitted me to share my gift, share my approval with you all over here live on this stage among all the disorder and all the kickback. So caps off to you all for that. … They acknowledged my earnestness and every one of my conciliatory sentiments when I said I never at any point intended to outrage anyone or say anything to cause anyone to feel any sort of way live on that stage half a month prior.”

After the video ended, he went into the Megan Thee Stallion-featured ‘Cry Baby’ and said to the crowd: “Check this out.. Other than the people that, you know, was truly offended, I feel like the rest of y’all motherfuckers being cry babies.” Watch the footage above.

Last week, he joked about quitting rap to pursue R&B music since he was “cancelled’ by that culture.
