Burna Boy responds to Sho Madjozi’s “Own It” remix saga

Nigerian star, responds to ’s claim of being responsible for taking down Own It remix.

On Friday, SA star said Burna’s team said the song should be taken down after fans complain that the song isn’t available to be streamed.

Sho believes that the reason behind such act is because they are both nominated in the same BET Awards category for Best International Act.

However, Burna Boy takes to Twitter to clear the air. He said Stormzy owns the song and not him.

He further said, Sho Madjozi should have professionally reached out rather than spill out on social media.

“Own It is NOT my song.If my voice is on it however it should have been properly cleared. If the remix wasn’t cleared with the label(Atlantic US)it automatically gets flagged. Nothing to do with me personally or any award. Always best to reach out professionally. Congrats on BET’s!” Burna tweeted.

He wished every other persons in the same category with him well.

“Oh and congrats to my brothas for life Dave, hus and stormz who I’ve made LEGENDARY music with! We’re all nominees in the same category but UNITY will always be the real win for us,” he added.
