A track by rapper Nas that was recorded 25 years prior has out of nowhere seemed on the web. The melody ‘Genuine N*ggas’ is a diss track about 2Pac, whom he had conflicted with some time ago, yet at last offered peace with just before the late rapper’s lamentable passing.
Nas goes after 2Pac halfway through the refrain, rapping “from tube-socks in Timbs to blue rocks and Benz/Who got the finishes, the sort of n*gga 2Pac imagines/To all n*ggas who sparkle, think about who sought retribution.”
On his Makaveli collection, 2Pac had a remark about the Queens rapper on ‘Despite everything.’ “This little n*gga named Nas think he live like me/Talkin’ ‘session he left the clinic, took five like me/You live in dreams, n*gga, I reject your store.” He even went the extent that blaming him for taking his persona, saying Nas was attempting to be actually similar to him. “Hello Nas, your entire damn style is nibbled/You heard my tune, read about my life in the papers/All my disagreement with specialists, felonious escapades/Now you need to carry on with my life, so what’s a ‘chazzer’ Nas?”
The meat between the rap legends began with Nas’ verses on ‘The Message’ from his collection It Was Written. “I got sewed up, it went through, left the emergency clinic that very evening, what,” he raps. Clearly he is alluding to the 1994 Quad Studio shooting 2Pac had been associated with. Anyway Nas made it clear it wasn’t his intnetion to diss the West Coast rapper. Eventually, the two ultimately made up.
