DJ Muggs Street Made
DJ Muggs suggests that his new single “Street Made” may be Scarface’s final rap song before his farewell tour.
DJ Muggs has been in the business for almost 30 years, and there appears to be no stopping him. The legendary producer is now working on Soul Assassins 3, and he’s been showering fans with new tunes to tide them over until the project is released. Muggs enlisted East Coast veterans Method Man and Slick Rick for the tune “Metropolis” earlier this year. With his latest release, “Street Code” featuring Scarface and Freddie Gibbs, he crosses the divide between the Midwest and the South. The ominous sound serves as the perfect backdrop for Scarface’s cautionary street bars, while Gibbs delivers vivid coke raps as if he were hanging onto a brick in the booth.
Scarface’s music video for the song hinted that it might be his final rap song before his upcoming farewell tour. In some ways, it’s a full circle moment because Gibbs, who previously collaborated with Scarface on the Pinata song “Broken,” has long referred to Scarface as one of his major influences.
