The Alabama-conceived recording craftsman has recently remarked on racial value in his music, most quite on his 2019 tune “Wooden Box”. As the battle heightens against hostile to Black prejudice in the United States, many have stood up and utilized their foundation to advance the change they need to find on the planet. Smart keeps being an assistant to the Black Lives Matter development, delivering his new melody “Skittles” with Lil Baby, which manages subjects of police severity, hostile to Black bigotry, and that’s just the beginning.
“Skittles” is one of the later tunes on Clever’s presentation collection Crazy, including Lil Baby as the two specialists talk on their own encounters with the law. In Clever’s snare, he references the homicide of Trayvon Martin, singing, “When they get you for the Skittles and you pull over/I don’t wanna pull over any longer.” Martin had gone for a stroll to his neighborhood corner store to purchase a sack of Skittles and he was lethally shot while getting back by George Zimmerman.
In Lil Baby’s refrain, the Grammy-designated craftsman proceeds with his work from “The Bigger Picture”, making rhymes nearby with what he was spitting a couple of months prior.
