Jay Z Becomes First Hip-Hop Billionaire
Jay Z Becomes First Hip-Hop Billionaire: Jay Z has accomplished an impressive milestone by becoming the first person in hip hop to reach $1 billion.
Forbes reports that Hov’s total net worth surpasses a billion dollars making him one of a handful of celebrities to ever achieve billionaire status. The publication has broken down his wealth as $310 million from Armand de Brignac, $220 million in cash and investments, $100 million from D’Ussé, $100 million from Tidal, $75 million from Roc Nation, a $75 million music catalog, his $70 million art collection, and $50 million from real estate.
Swizz Beatz says this about Sean Carter:
“It’s bigger than hip hop. It’s the blueprint for our culture. A guy that looks like us, sounds like us, loves us, made it to something that we always felt that was above us. If he’s a billionaire now, imagine what he’s about to be because he’s only just starting.”
Jay Z recently reopened Webster Hall with his B-Sides 2 concert and had his The Blueprint album archived by the Library Of Congress.
